St. James Episcopal Church

St. James Welcomes you!
We are an Episcopal Church in downtown Woonsocket, right next to the Court St. Bridge on Hamlet Ave. We are focused on worshipping God in a joyful manner, teaching children and adults about Jesus and God, helping each other, and reaching out to the community through our ministries.

At St. James Church we strive...
  • To model Christ-like behavior of acceptance, forgiveness, and love
  • To reach families in our community for Christ
  • To assimilate them into the life of the Church
  • To nurture them toward Christian maturity

What's Happening!

Our Atrium is wonderful and we are now fully handicap accessible! You are welcome to join us on Sundays at 8:00 and 9:30. Check out the calendar for details.

Come Join Us! SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2009, at 7p.m.
Back by popular demand, the African Children’s Choir will be coming to St. James for a concert on this evening! During their last visit in July, 2005, hundreds of people packed the church to enjoy the inspiring performance of these spirited young boys and girls. There is no admission charge for this concert, but a free-will offering will be collected, with all proceeds going to the African Children’s Choir.
Blessing of the Animals: Sunday, October 4th, 2009
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2009 at 8:00 and 9:30 a.m.
Be sure to bring your animal companion (or a picture thereof) to church on this day to receive a special blessing, in honor of the Feast of St. Francis. Animal treats will be available following each service, and snacks and refreshments will be available for all humans at the reception immediately following the 9:30 a.m. service. Invite your family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors to bring their pets and come along! Look at the pictures from last year's celebration of St. Francis of Assis.
