St. James Welcomes you!
We are an Episcopal Church in downtown Woonsocket, right next to the Court St. Bridge on Hamlet Ave. We are focused on worshipping God in a joyful manner, teaching children and adults about Jesus and God, helping each other, and reaching out to the community through our ministries.

At St. James Church we strive...
  • To model Christ-like behavior of acceptance, forgiveness, and love
  • To reach families in our community for Christ
  • To assimilate them into the life of the Church
  • To nurture them toward Christian maturity

89th Annual May Breakfast

Come Join Us! SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2009 For The 89th Annual May Breakfast
7:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon

Come to St. James Episcopal Church on Saturday morning, May 2nd, and discover what thousands of Rhode Islanders and others from southern New England have been raving about since 1920!  The Annual May Breakfast at St. James is one of the oldest in the state, and for good reason:  folks leave well satisfied!

The traditional menu features lots of favorites, from pancakes and scrambled eggs to our ever-popular French toast with its secret ingredients.  Start off with a bowl of hot oatmeal or cold cereal, select crispy bacon or savory sausage to add to your entree choice, then finish off with a warm blueberry or corn muffin.  A variety of juices is available, as well as freshly-brewed coffee, tea and milk.

After breakfast, guests may enjoy browsing among the array of baked goods, candy, plants and craft items available for sale.  They may even enter a drawing for a chance to win a basket filled with either quality kitchen or bath items!

Ticket prices for the 89th Annual May Breakfast are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children age 10 and younger; all tickets may be purchased at the door on the morning of the breakfast.  Bring your family and friends and take part in this historic Rhode Island institution
Handbell Concert: Sunday, May 17, 2009, at 4p.m.
St. James Episcopal Church Music Ministries will sponsor a concert by the Jubilate Ringers, a handbell choir from East Greenwich, RI. This is a group that began at St. Luke's Episcopal Church as a worship enhancement using two octaves of bells. It has since expanded beyond the doors of St. Luke's to include members from many other churches, many more handbells, and the addition of handchimes. A freewill offering will be taken at this concert to support their music ministry as well as the church's concert series, Music By the Bridge and a collation will follow the concert. This is an exciting group to see and hear! Music Ministries

There's always lots going on at 24 Hamlet Ave!

Our youth recently led the service and gave a wonderful sermon on the lessons in Genesis and their Pilgrimage. You can read their wonderful Sermon if you like.
