over 20 years; we distribute food to over 3,000 persons annually.

Coat of Many Colors
One of several outreach ministries at St. James is
THE COAT OF MANY COLORS.
Located at 24 Hamlet Street [rear] - the entrance is under
the Parish Hall near the dumpster - this clothes closet collects
articles of clothing and redistributes them at no cost to voucher
holders. Vouchers are supplied by Family Resources
Community Action, a local social
service agency, which acts as a clearing house for several outreach
groups. The voucher is effective for one month and can be renewed
once each year.
Hours are Saturdays 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM holiday weekends excluded.
Beginning the first week of Spring 2009 the Coat of Many Colors will be opened on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. (New!)
The Coat of Many Colors is an all volunteer group and, of course, is always eager to accept new volunteers. It also will be happy to accept your clothing donations.
Adopt a Family
.jpg)
The young people in our congregation raised money to Adopt-A-Family for Christmas this year by baking and selling beautiful Christmas cookies.
They prepared nearly twenty plates of home made Christmas cookies which they sold in early December. They raised over $250. Here is a picture of the presents they were able to purchase for their adopted family, along with one of our young cooks!
Local Charities
We are looking for donations of gently used linens - sheets,
towels, face cloths, etc, to be donated to local agencies. Please
drop you donations in the boxes that are at the front and back
entrance to The Atrium. Thank you.
